POSITION TITLE: Business Intelligence Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Analyst at Tasteful Partners will join our Enterprise Technology team, focusing on supporting the sales division. This role plays a critical part in leveraging internal sales and finance data, market indicators, and business segmentation to provide analysis supporting key enterprise initiatives. The primary objective is to deliver actionable insights driving growth, particularly by enhancing the effectiveness of our sales division.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Insight Generation: Develop and maintain advanced Power BI report packages and apps for company-wide deployment. Collaborate with sales leaders to align business intelligence solutions with strategic objectives. Analyze sales metrics to uncover relationships between sales actions and outcomes.
  • Standardize Data Models for Corporate Use: Construct and manage corporate data models using SSAS and Power BI datasets, ensuring datasets are governed and embedded with business logic for use by citizen analysts. Support functional areas with user testing and training to enhance BI tool efficiency.
  • Business Process and Data Management: Engage with cross-functional teams to gather context and requirements. Partner with engineers to develop and maintain robust data pipelines and processes. Communicate data analysis requirements effectively to the development team.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Perform tailored analysis across all business segments to support diverse enterprise needs.
  • BI Tools Evaluation: Recommend BI tools and solutions tailored to the unique needs of our agricultural business.
  • Strategic Reporting: Analyze reports and draft insights for senior leadership to aid strategic decision-making. Lead the development of executive scorecards with cascading KPIs.
  • Technical Support and Documentation: Assist in resolving technical issues and create essential user documentation, including data dictionaries and user guides.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of Power BI experience required, 5 years strongly preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in sales or the agriculture industry is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Data Modeling Skills: Capable of designing efficient data models within Power BI, including setting up relationships, calculated columns, and measures.
  • DAX Proficiency: Strong understanding of Data Analysis Expressions for crafting complex calculations within Power BI reports.
  • Data Transformation: Experience in data preparation and transformation using Power Query Editor in Power BI Desktop.
  • Requirements Gathering: Skilled in eliciting requirements from users, managing expectations, and coordinating with the Data Team.
  • SQL Knowledge: Understanding of SQL for data querying and manipulation in relational databases.
  • Data Visualization: Ability to design effective and visually appealing data visualizations within Power BI.
  • ETL Knowledge: Familiarity with ETL processes and tools, essential for data integration in Power BI.
  • Integration Skills: Experience integrating Power BI with other Microsoft products like Azure services and Office 365 applications.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during Power BI solution development and deployment.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems like Git for Power BI report management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods and perform computer-based tasks
  • Comfortable working in an office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and printers
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks that may involve bending, stooping and reaching
